Description of Special Services

SERVICE

OVERVIEW

COD

AmeriTruck handles your collect on delivery shipments and accepts cash, cashier’s check, certified check or money order. Checks are accepted only if noted on the bill of lading. The fee for this service is collected from the consignee unless the bill of lading indicates, "fee to be prepaid" by shipper.

Detention of power unit

Border crossing

Driver held at border 12am till 8am, a layover charge of $200 will apply and from 8am till release hourly rate.

Delay to driver resulting from shippers / client error 1 hours free at border point. After the 1st hour an hourly rate will apply.

Extra labor

AmeriTruck provides one employee for the loading and unloading of your freight. If you need additional assistance, AmeriTruck can provide it.

Hazardous material

AmeriTruck will accept shipments of hazardous materials or hazardous substances subject to all requirements of such commodities. AmeriTruck will assess a per shipment handling charge of $9.00.

In bond

Shipments that have not been cleared by Customs moving In Bond to inland port. When needed, AmeriTruck will take responsibility of your shipment and assure that it clears Customs prior to delivery. Additional charges may apply.

Inside pick or delivery

When requested, AmeriTruck loads or unloads shipments from or to areas that are not next to the trailer such as shopping malls or office buildings. An elevator must be available to provide service to floors above or below the trailer.

Lift gate

AmeriTruck provides lift gate service, if needed, to load and unload a shipment when loading docks are not available.

Marking and labeling

If requested, AmeriTruck will mark and label each piece in a shipment with the name and address of the shipper and consignee. We will also re-mark freight that is re-consigned, written authorization is required by the customer.

Re-delivery

When the consignee is unable to accept or refuses delivery of a shipment, AmeriTruck schedules a time and redelivers the shipment for an additional charge. AmeriTruck will notify the customer and written authorization is required by the customer.

Residential delivery

Pick up or delivery at non-commercial locations (private homes and neighborhoods) will be provided for a fee that covers the additional mileage and the time required to provide the service.

Sorting - handling

Normal loading and unloading service does not include the sorting or segregating of freight by size, brand, flavor, individual lot, etc. If a shipment needs to be sorted or segregated, AmeriTruck provides the service.

Storage

Shipments that cannot be delivered due to circumstances beyond AmeriTruck’s control may be held at our service center. Storage charges are assessed to cover storage and additional handling.
